Former SARS CIO Ken Jarvis joins Huge
02 September 2008

The Huge Group has announced yet another impressive appointment to its board of directors.  In line with the group's promise to build intellectual capital, Ken Jarvis, the acclaimed ex-CIO of the South African Revenue Service, will join the Huge Group from 1 September in a non-executive capacity.  This news closely follows the appointment last month of Don Tredoux, founder of Orion Telecom, also in a non-executive capacity.

Jarvis, the man responsible for the incredible turnaround of SARS from 2002 - 2006, started his working career in the mid-70's and spent a decade with IBM.  His impressive CV lists a host of well-known companies who have head-hunted him over the years, including: Nedacom, Momentum Life, Nedcor Bank, Amplats, Multichoice and SARS.

Jarvis's experience includes massive project rollouts, consolidation exercises and transformational initiatives.  His unique documentation of SARS's IT strategy was rated number one in worldwide Thought Leadership by Gartner and he has presented to over 5,000 people in Cannes on the success of SARS's 'Single View of the Client' project.  Jarvis was the winner of the 2004 ICT Leadership award and was voted the Public Sector CIO of that year.

Currently heading up his own company, JIKA Africa, Jarvis says his new position on Huge's board will allow him to assist in the company's strategic direction as they navigate the fast-paced telecommunications landscape.  Huge's board now comprises a formidable combination of leading industry executives from the likes of MTN, Autopage, Orion (Vox) and the ex-MD's of TelePassport and CentraCell.
