Amil de Moura - IT Director

Amil de Moura started his IT career at Joy Manufacturing Company in Johannesburg in 1976 and during the early years of his career he gained vast experience in the technical aspects of Application Systems Development. In 1981, Amil moved into management and began building his experience in Information Management. In 1985, Amil joined BMW (South Africa) as their IT Manager where he implemented a network for all the BMW dealers, positioning BMW as the first car manufacturer to allow dealers to process orders, warranty claims and perform numerous enquiries online. In 1995 Amil joined M-Tel, a sister company of MTN at the time, also as an IT Manager where his main responsibility was for the Subscriber Operation Billing and Customer Care plus Cellular Service and Repair system. In 1997, he joined Afrox Healthcare as Application Systems Manager, responsible for the group’s Healthcare application systems. |
Amil joined IBM Global Services in 2000, as a Business Area Manager in the AS team. In 2003, he was appointed the Application Services Lead, responsible for ensuring exceptional delivery to all accounts and implementing the workforce strategy in-line with these demands.
During his 30 year career in the IT Industry Amil has worked extensively, both on technical and managerial levels and is results driven with extensive experience leading people and project teams, implementing and overseeing technology programs and administering multi-million Rand budgets. He has an in-depth understanding of emerging technologies and their commercial applications and a 15 year track record of successful planning and directing activities that provide innovative information technology. Amil’s appointment adds huge value to an already formidable team.
